Killer expectations

The world out there... the society out there... It is always changing and so do people too. And when the people change, it means expectations are rising too, from yourself and the people around you.

When I went to take the teaching course, I had a lot of dreams then, aspiring to be a good subject teacher with all the high end skills of questionings and teaching strategies. I have new and higher expectations of myself.

Yet now when I am posted to this school which school name is related to Smallville, I then realised that because of too many expectations, I am not enjoying myself when I should be. When I joined teaching, it is not mainly for career wise but because... ( think I better not say since there are students reading this blog)

Anyway, have you felt that sometimes you are being stifled by expectations from yourself and the people around you? You shouldn't feel so. What is most important is that you have done your best and that you are still enjoying life...
